The challenge

Eduvik, an edtech startup connecting tutors and students, aimed to improve the user experience for both parents and tutors — while progressively aligning their platform with WCAG AA accessibility standards.
One major challenge: they had already invested in a custom interface that didn’t meet accessibility requirements, and several user flows were confusing. With a limited budget, the goal was to enhance usability and accessibility without rebuilding the entire platform.

Eduvik is a digital platform that simplifies private tutoring by connecting parents, students, and certified tutors. The platform allows users to book lessons, track progress, and communicate efficiently — with a mission to make quality education more accessible and transparent.

What We Changed

  • Improved onboarding flow
We redesigned the onboarding experience to make it more intuitive and welcoming for both tutors and parents, addressing drop-off points.

  • Structural UI improvements
We used a reusable component system to bring consistency across pages, reduce visual clutter, and speed up development.

  • New features
    We added key features like:

    • Booking group lessons

    • In-platform messaging

    • Downloadable tutor CVs with tracked progress

  • Developer-conscious design
All new designs were created with low-cost implementation in mind, working within existing code frameworks to minimize rework.

Where We Are Now

Eduvik is gradually implementing the new designs — and early results are promising. User activity on the platform has increased, and the UX improvements are already helping reduce friction in key flows.

While the platform isn’t fully WCAG AA compliant yet, it’s clearly moving in the right direction — towards a more inclusive, user-friendly experience.
